Opening Day 2016 - Take Two
Halton Jaguars Start Their 2016 Campaign With a Sweep of Oldham North Stars

After last weeks postponements, the Jags opening day finally arrived with a two game matchup against Oldham North Stars.

An untested Jags team took the field, having returned to competition after a year long hiatus. Despite Oldham opening the scoring in the top of the first the Jags looked strong behind the pitching of Carl Heesom - who would go on to throw a no hitter through five innings - and Mitch Cross, who pitched games one and two respectively.

Haltons offence was unmatched in both games, despite Oldham battling throughout, mounting a late rally in the final inning of game two.

Final Scores:

Game One - Oldham 3 : 20 Halton
Game Two - Oldham 4 : 21 Halton

The club would like to thank our newest sponsors 'Dowhigh Limited' for their generous donation of field materials. Dowhigh are a Northwest based company with sattelite depots across the region who are currently serving the needs of over twenty local authorities (and one baseball club).

The Jaguars next scheduled game is Sunday 17th of May against Sheffield Bladerunners at John Mills Ballpark. First pitch is 12:00 noon.
